Morningside
Morningside is a gated community in the Upper East Side neighborhood of Miami. It is bounded by NE 50th St. to the South and NE 60th St. to the North. Biscayne Boulevard bounds the neighborhood to the West and Morningside Park and Biscayne Bay comprise its Eastern boundary.
The neighborhood dates back to the 1920’s, and approximately half of the homes ranging from NE 55th to NE 60th streets are designated historical homes on the National Registry representing some of the areas finest examples of art-deco, Mediterranean revival and vernacular style architecture.
Morningside is known for its rich landscaping lining its broad streets, truly making this one of the best-kept secrets in Miami. Morningside Park, which is within the boundaries of the gated community, is the largest waterfront park in South Florida stretching 40 acres. The park offers neighborhood residents a playground, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer field, baseball field and plenty of open green space and jogging paths next to Biscayne Bay. The park also offers water access via a boat ramp, kayak rentals and BBQ/picnic areas.
Perhaps the best part about this neighborhood is its close proximity to everything. The Design District “the Rodeo Drive of Miami” is just a few blocks to its South while Downtown Miami, Brickell, Miami Beach and Miami International airport are no more than a ten-minute drive. In addition, Morningside is also directly across the street from one of Miami’s finest preparatory schools, the Cushman School and just outside its gates on NE 50th St., is the Morningside Montessori School.
The Benmeir Team is proud to call this neighborhood home and has the inside knowledge and expertise to help you find your dream home in Morningside.
